ABOUT US

Rhythm Snowsports has been operating in Cooma, Australia since 1985. Rhythm was started as a small service station and is now known as the biggest and most progressive snowsports store in the southern hemisphere. Rhythm Snowsports also has stores in both Hakuba and Niseko, Japan.

Rhythm is known to have the best reputation for quality gear and professional staff. We offer premium retail, rental, workshop services and custom boot fits. Rhythm can be very busy during peak periods; you will be asked to work with us to get through these times. YOUR NEW ROLE

Cross country consultants have the most complex department and will be expected to rent and sell the following:
Skate, classic, Light touring, telemark and Alpine Touring

Camping items (tents/sleeping bags), Back country (beacons, packs, probes), Snowshoes

Handling of Groups and Interschool Bookings (Covid dependent)

 

JOB DUTIES

Acknowledge customers quickly and courteously

Determine guest equipment needs, assist with rental selection and set up

Assist guests with retail goods that they are looking for

Cash handling

Complete necessary documentation and paperwork neatly and accurately

Comply with all area and industry procedures and regulations

Comply with all company, store and area policies and procedures

Keep work area organised and clean

Maintain rental fleet in good condition

Train customer on equipment care and use

Co-operate and assist other departments as needed

Perform other related duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

We are looking for someone who will be passionate about their job, with a positive attitude and carries a high level of initiative.
To be successful in this role you will have an in depth understanding of skis, how they perform in different conditions and what sets them apart from one another. On top of this, you should be able to translate this to a customer and put them on the best ski so that they have an epic experience.
We stock the latest and best gear, so any prior and current knowledge will be advantageous.
Additionally, you will be dexterous, good with tools, strong enough to lift various size skis and be a team player, as you will be a part of one of the busiest departments in our Cooma store.

Average of 35-40 hours per week during peak season, more in busier times and less in the shoulder season’s, dependant on snow conditions and business demand. There are both day and night shifts available.
